How to choose a bed for your dog

A good dog bed should suit the way your dog sleeps, their size and your home. Before choosing, notice how they rest: whether they curl up or stretch out, sleep on the floor or climb onto the sofa. When colder weather arrives, a padded place of their own to rest is even more welcome.

A bed with raised sides or a flat cushion

If your dog sleeps curled up or likes to rest their head, a bed with raised sides such as the Milano bed gives them a sheltered, padded space. If they prefer to stretch out, or you want something for the sofa, floor or any corner of the home, a flat cushion such as the Roma cushion is the more practical option.

Beds for small and medium-sized dogs

To choose the right size, measure your dog lying down from the nose to the base of the tail, then choose a slightly longer bed so they can stretch out. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Size S is designed for small dogs such as Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers, Pomeranians, Maltese, Toy Poodles and Papillons. Size M is for medium-sized dogs or those with longer bodies, such as French Bulldogs, Miniature Schnauzers, Boston Terriers and Dachshunds.

Beds for Dachshunds

Dachshunds, often called sausage dogs, have long bodies and enjoy both stretching out and curling up. For those who sleep stretched out, the Roma cushion in size M, at 90 cm long, offers plenty of space; for those who prefer to curl up, the Milano bed in size M provides sides to rest their head on. For a Miniature Dachshund, size S is usually sufficient.

Dog beds with removable, washable covers

Hair, dirt from walks and daily use mean your dog's bed needs regular washing. That is why our beds have removable covers: they come off in a moment and are machine washable at 30 ºC. To help them last longer, do not tumble dry, bleach or iron.

To keep a clean cover to hand or change the colour of the bed, you can add a Milano replacement cover or a Roma replacement cover in the same size.

A bed that complements your home

Your dog's bed is often on display in the living room or bedroom, so its appearance matters too. That is why we have made them in four easy-to-coordinate colours: burgundy, navy blue, green and grey.
